To be eligible for a bursary, you’ll need at least one of the following:

  • a bachelor’s degree class 2:2 (honours) or higher
  • a master’s degree
  • a PhD

You’ll also need to meet the bursary scheme’s individual terms and conditions.

Bursaries and scholarships

There are three types of funding available for teacher training - depending on your circumstances, you could receive all three:

  • Tax-free bursary or scholarship
  • Tuition Fee Loan and Maintenance Loan
  • Additional financial support if you’re a parent or have a disability
